Answer: White, Green and Blue LED chip technology requires 3.6Volts or above to operate with optimum performance and intensity. For the best illumination results we recommend using a 3 cell = 4.5Volt flashlight as a minimum. If you are not looking for maximum intensity and you only need close up task lighting, then using the White LED bulb in a two cell 3Volt flashlight will operate the LEDs, but at a much lower intensity level. The trade off is you will get longer battery life at the lower voltage. You should note that if your 2-cell flashlight on and off switch has a high resistance level, then the LEDs could start flickering once the voltage falls below 3volts.
Proposed Solution: Use LEDtronics optimized 3N cell High Power FlashLED with either 6-LEDs or 3-LED clusters.
